| Larry's Main, Larry's Bio, Larry's Music Larry Hall
I was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. in 1949 and lived most of my childhood and adolescent life in Valparaiso, IN. where I learned to read and play music. In high school I swam on the swim team and qualified for the state meet two years in a row. I attended college at Purdue University in Lafayette, IN. and majored in Industrial Psychology with a minor in English Composition. I graduated in 1971 and gave myself a trip for graduation. Two friends and I went to Western Europe for an intended one month vacation. Seven months later I returned to the U.S.A. While in Europe, when I ran out of money, I got a job as a cook in a restaurant in Germany, an apartment and a bank account. I started with $1000.00, stayed seven months and came back with $500.00. We took a side trip on the way back, to the Bahamas, then hitch-hiked from Florida back to Indiana. I took a job in Champaign, Illinois. with Solo Cup Co. and retired from there 26 years later. While I was there, I married, had three daughters and then divorced. I also co-founded an age-group swim team for boys & girls ages 5 - 18. I think I probably taught about 200 kids to swim. My three daughters are all married, have associates degrees, good jobs and are great swimmers. I am a grandfather of two, so far. After I retired from Solo Cup, I moved to Beaver Island, Michigan. and I don't plan to ever move again. If you go to our web site and look at the photos, you'll see some of the reasons why. I joined the partnership of Mike and Ted in Emerald Isle Technologies, involved in digital recording. Right now we are accepting local musicians looking to create their own CDs. We are also working on our own musical compositions and a comedy CD. We are having so much fun, I have to keep reminding myself that "it's a job." I tease Ted that I didn't plan on working this much after retiring. He says retired just means "being tired all over again. Re-tired". I am currently contributing as a musical technician, composer, digital recording, and live musician & vocalist for our customers and our own collaborations. I also contribute voice characters and creative writing ideas to the comedy CDs. Larry's first CD "An Evening with the Idiot Box" Comedy CD Coming Soon!
